Inspired by my garden and the swallows that return each year, Where the Swallows Fly captures the fleeting beauty of these much-loved summer visitors as they sweep above the flowers and foliage.
The porcelain artwork is built up in layers of hand-applied colour, pattern and botanical detail. Deep blue swallows move across a soft palette of blues and greens, with touches of warm orange and red bringing the garden to life. Subtle lustre details catch the light and add another dimension to the porcelain surface.
Each porcelain piece is individually made, decorated and fired in my Dublin studio, making it a one-of-a-kind original artwork. The finished porcelain is presented in a simple white frame, allowing the colour, texture and delicate surface detail to take centre stage.
A joyful piece celebrating summer in the garden and the wonderful sight of the swallows returning each year.
