Swallows Through the Garden is inspired by my garden and the swallows that return each year. Their wonderful movement as they dart and sweep amongst the flowers and foliage has long been a source of inspiration in my work.
Four deep blue swallows move through layers of delicate flowers, foliage and intricate pattern, capturing a fleeting moment in the garden. Soft blues and turquoise are interspersed with touches of pink, creating a fresh and gentle palette inspired by the colours of the natural world.
Each piece is individually created and decorated by hand on porcelain in my Dublin studio. The porcelain is clear glazed and fired to 1250°C, bringing depth and luminosity to the colour and surface.
This is a one-of-a-kind original porcelain artwork, presented in a contemporary white frame and ready to hang.
