These bowls draw inspiration from the delicate egg shells and intricate bird nests of song birds. I was also inspired by my mother's vintage bone china tea set, with its elegant details and gold lustre. Made from fine porcelain, the bowls have a soft green colour and are glazed with a celadon glaze, featuring a jewel-like effect from a touch of melted green glass in the centre. The outside is adorned with underglazes, adding texture to the drawings of bird nests. As a finishing touch, a feather or bird motif is hand-painted with gold lustre enamel on the inside, and the rim is also edged with gold lustre before being fired in the kiln.
